For over two decades, I’ve dealt with persistent, daily pain in my neck and shoulder. I injured it years ago while rock climbing, but even before that I had a vivid childhood memory in which a spot in my back seemed to get spontaneously “hung up” in a weird way. It’s always been a vulnerable spot. I wouldn’t want to try and count the dollars I’ve spent on physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, etc. (I probably can’t count that high, anyway!)

For the last two weeks, it’s been slowly unraveling to the point where I have no pain at all. Still a bit of clicking and cracking, but no pain.

What led to this was a lovely and deep experience led by my friend and colleague Angel M Lopez Mutuberria.

I met Angel when we were both studying for our doctoral degrees at Case Western Reserve University. Trained as a psychotherapist, a lawyer, an HR leader, and now as a researcher, Angel is quite an impressive guy. In other words, no slouch.

He also happens to do past life regressions. (!!!)

There are very few people in the world I would trust with such an intimate adventure. (And I remain agnostic about what in fact is actually *happening* in a past life regression). But from the moment I met him, I sensed in Angel a deep shamanistic presence underlying the thoughtful and intellectually astute man that he is. He may in fact be the ONLY person I would trust to lead me down such a path.

So a couple of weeks ago I buckled up for a session. And… WOW. It was a deeply somatic experience / imagining / remembering that has, in short order, led to relief from decades of pain. Just wow. And thank you, Angel!!!

Had my first 90-Min Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy (QHHT) Therapy. I still need a bit of time to assimilate it all -but my goodness, what an experience.

Working with the unconscious can be shock-awe-bananas as we trip over substantially sized pieces hidden away from our conscious awareness, that when made conscious, feels a bit nuts.

We really don’t ‘GET’ the entity that is our “Unconscious Selves”. I don’t anyway. I don’t really get that the unconscious self is like an entire country operating within us, totally outside of our knowing. We bumble along thinking life is whatever:
– we know
– or the parts we know, that we don’t know
– or at times, we can vaguely get our heads around the parts that; we don’t know, that we don’t know.

And then there is experiencing the unconscious by and through a powerfully skilled facilitator that leaves you cross legged on the floor, bewildered at what just happened as you leave the session, a different version of yourself.
